Colour of skin, gender, sexuality, religion, able or disabled, these are the superficial distinctions between good and bad, right and wrong, moral or immoral.
The ultimate judgement of a human is their stand against injustice, the position they take in the face of corruption, their response in the wake of brutality.
These are the characteristics that differentiates the oppressor from the oppressed, the despot and the victim, and the bully from the bullied.

Today is not new. Today didn’t just happen.
Today has been existing for years, decades and centuries.
Racism, sexism, gender inequality, and bigotry has become acceptable.
It has become the acceptable norm.
The pain, the anguish, the hurt that is caused remains silent.
It is the invisible ink that runs through the veins, never visible but always there.
Those who live through these indignities everyday of their lives do so in anonymity, in shame and in guilt.
Silence is no longer acceptable.
It is no longer polite to accept injustice, corruption, or brutality. Silence is the enemy.
Your outrage is not enough.
Now is the time to scream
Be loud. Be seen. Be heard. Shout from the highest rooftops. No longer should you be kept quiet. No longer should you be prepared to accept the unacceptable.
We’re a bunch of average people with no unique qualities. Everyday people with everyday lives; families, jobs, and the stresses of day to day life. Nothing unique.
But we have rage in our hearts. We are indignant. We have witnessed the inhumanity, hypocrisy, and the reality of the corridors of power.
The oppression ordered from buildings of marble to the streets of Minnesota, Paris, Berlin and London, is a testament.
As a society, as a community and as an individual, we can all do better.
