The most dangerous worldviews are the worldviews of those who have never seen the world.
Alexander von Humboldt
We see radical and racist actions all over the world, but also right on our doorstep.
According to police reports and statements by the public prosecutor's office in Heidelberg, members of the Normannia fraternity in Heidelberg attacked a visitor to their fraternity house on 28 August 2020. The victim was allegedly beaten with belts, pelted with coins and subjected to anti-Semitic insults by several residents of the Normannia house after he stated that he had Jewish ancestors.
This is not the first racist action by the Normannia fraternity, nor the last to affect fraternities in Heidelberg. The stories are not new, although quite outrageous. There seems to be an acceptance among students and the university administration that these fraternities continue to practice, live and spread racism in the student network, in the city of Heidelberg and beyond.
We - Flame2Fame - don't accept racism and we want to set an example - that's why we met for a little photo shoot to express our opinion.
We condemn all racist behaviour and will not remain silent about it.
